A fresh approach

We’ve taken a fresh approach to our service offering with Retained Recruitment

…and our clients are experiencing the benefits.

Retained Recruitment allows us to truly work in partnership with you to achieve exceptional results. Our clients get a great outcome without a lot of the pain and time wasting a contingent process often comes with.

We recently secured a candidate for a highly complex role for a client who had been running their own recruitment drive for almost two years – unsuccessfully. We sourced three qualified candidates, two went to the second interview stage and an offer of employment was made and accepted within three weeks.

Just one example – we have many similar – where we achieved the quality outcome the client was looking for in a timeframe that well exceeded their expectations.

Our retained recruitment approach also allows us to provide a more holistic service, delivering value and benefits to our clients beyond the transactional side of the arrangement.

Positive outcomes our clients experience with Retained Recruitment

Clients opting for retained recruitment with Talent Connect enjoy an authentic partnership, exclusive dedication to filling their roles, and a bespoke approach that results in high-quality hires.

Attracting talent to those hard-to-fill roles

Some roles seem virtually impossible to fill, where it can feel as if you’re looking for a skill set that simply doesn’t exist. In these situations, retained recruitment is the only viable solution. We have a proven track record of connecting our clients with those highly skilled, quality candidates who may initially seem impossible to find.

Authentic partnership

We partner with our clients for the long term and we work to understand your business context, needs and challenges. We’re paid for the work we do and we want to exceed your expectations. We dedicate our time, effort and resources into delivering results for our clients. Our clients put their trust in Talent Connect as experts and can have confidence that they have secured the best person in the market.

Expertise

Talent Connect offers access to its extensive networks throughout the energy sector, both in Aotearoa New Zealand and offshore. Our relationships are for the long term, and we experience regular repeat business with both our clients and candidates (including candidates who have gone on to become hiring managers). Our recruitment team have a wealth of experience working roles in specialised sectors with traditionally very hard to fill roles. Our intensive search techniques enable us to present highly qualified candidates for these complex roles.

Exclusivity

We’re committed to you and finding the right candidate to fill your role. Retained recruitment guarantees exclusivity, where Talent Connect is the only agency responsible for filling your role(s), which offers tangible benefits. Because we aren’t juggling multiple client vacancies at a time, we don’t need to prioritise the quick wins over the more challenging roles to be able to keep the lights on. We work your vacancy(ies) exclusively until the role is filled with the right candidate and you have a highly motivated recruiter dedicated to bringing you the right result.

Dedicated, bespoke approach

With retained recruitment, your role receives 100% of our attention and focus. As a specialist recruiter this means we’re able to provide attention to detail, due diligence, the protection of confidentiality and access to our network of contacts and resources. It can sometimes be a slower process, but it results in a better quality hire – which saves our clients time and money further down the line.

Keeping up momentum

With any recruitment process, challenges can inevitably come up along the way whether it’s with relocations or unexpected changes – anything can (and usually does!) happen. We’re there at each step to help identify, troubleshoot and work through any issues as they arise.

“I am delighted to provide a glowing recommendation for Robbert Adriaansen, who played an instrumental role in assisting me with the recruitment process for asset engineers at Wellington Electricity. Robbert truly exemplifies the qualities of a skilled and dedicated professional in the field of recruitment. Robbert demonstrated remarkable expertise in sourcing top talent within the engineering sector. His proactive approach, combined with his extensive network, enabled them to attract highly qualified professionals to our recruitment process. The candidates they presented to us were well-vetted, possessing the necessary technical skills and experience required for the asset engineer role.”

What is Retained Recruitment?

Retained Recruitment is where the recruiter is paid a set fee for ongoing services. This is paid in stages as the recruitment project progresses – initiation, progress and completion.

How is the Retained Recruitment fee calculated?

The Retained Recruitment fee is calculated as a percentage of the successful applicant’s annual remuneration package, split into three payments – initiation, progress and completion.

For ease, this is calculated at the midpoint of the salary range (with any difference accounted for in the final invoice).

What if we have more than one role?

We’re happy to recruit for multiple roles with you. Talent Connect can offer negotiated rates and payment terms for multiple vacancies.

Who pays for recruitment?

Clients (businesses) who engage our recruitment services pay a fee (a percentage of the annual salary package for the role) for our services.

There is no cost to Candidates who apply for roles with Talent Connect.

What does guaranteed results mean?

We guarantee we will find the right person for your role, so essentially we keep working until we do – communicating all the way through. If the right match is proving elusive, it may be that the exact person you’re looking for doesn’t exist. Our process would be to have a review checkpoint at 3 months into the project and as part of this review we may discuss rescoping/widening the search slightly.

We also offer a standard guarantee of three months for any candidate placed, meaning if they leave the company during that period we will replace the candidate at no further charge.
